Housing Europe welcomes 2 new members and 1 new partner

Our membership network now includes Cyprus and Slovenia, while IWO joins our partners' lineup

Highlights from our General Assembly in Tallinn

During the celebrational General Assembly in Tallinn on June 8th that marked our 30th anniversary, Housing Europe had the privilege to welcome 2 new members and 1 new partners to its family. The Cyprus Land Development Corporation and the Housing Fund of the Republic of Slovenia officially became our two new member organisations, while IWO-The Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe further supports our strong lineup of partners.

The Cyprus Land Development Corporation is responsible for the implementation of the Government’s Social Housing policy and Schemes. It provides Affordable Residential Dwellings, only for sale, to people who have difficulties to acquire through the private sector and meet certain financial criteria.

The Housing Fund of the Republic of Slovenia has recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. It was established to create the best conditions to secure enough quality housing, facilitating housing access, especially for the young and young families. The Fund, serving the interest of the state, covers the territory of the whole state and in accordance with its business policy finances and implements the national housing programme, promotes house building, renewal and maintenance of flats as well as residential buildings.

The Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe (IWO) is an NGO founded in 2001 to help develop market-oriented structures in the housing sector and the building industry in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, to foster sustainable urban development in the project regions and to improve living and housing conditions in the project regions. IWO forms - with its members and partners - a European network of expertise, fosters partnerships and cooperation of stakeholders in Germany and abroad, that is, private and public companies and organisations as well as committed individuals and experts and follows a holistic, systemic approach in cooperation and projects initiated and developed by IWO, coordinating transfer of know-how and experiences in the fields of business economics, technology, energy and finance for sustainable and tailored project results.
