Launch of Housing Europe's Manifesto to Lead the Way out of the Housing Crisis

25 January 2024 I European Parliament (SPINELLI 3G3), Brussels I 16:00-19:00 CET

Brussels, Belgium, 25 January 2024Save the date

2024 is EU election year. The focus on the housing crisis is growing at European level - the European Parliament held a plenary discussion in Strasbourg on the lack of affordable homes and difficulties people face to find a decent place to live. After a 13-year gap, housing ministers met to discuss shared challenges and common solutions, and this is now becoming an official part of several EU presidencies conference schedules. The next European Parliament must build up on the growing momentum.

On January 25, 2024 from 16:00-18:00 CET in the European Parliament in Brussels, Housing Europe will launch its Manifesto for the European elections and the new European Commission outlining 3 Steps to Lead the Way out of the Housing Crisis. Wallonia's Minister of Housing, Christophe Collignon, will join us as the representative of the government to mark the start of Belgium's EU Presidency. Our Manifesto and expressing your opinion will plant the seeds of the conference in Liège on March 5, 2024 which will be dedicated to housing, and has been initiated by the rotating EU Belgian Presidency.

You are welcome to join us for a cocktail as of 18:00 CET at the Housing Europe Centre, just a few minutes away from the European Parliament.

The event is kindly co-hosted by MEP Barry Andrews from the Renew Europe Group and the Left.
