CECODHAS Press Release on the Social Investment Package
On 20 February, the European Commission adopted its “Social Investment Package” to call on Member States to prioritise social investment and to modernise their welfare states. “Social Investment today helps to prevent Member States having to pay much higher financial and social bills tomorrow” declared László Andor, Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Social Inclusion. The Package is accompanied by guidance as to how to improve national social policies in order to make them more efficient and effective on the long term.
