The Swedish Association of Public Housing Companies (SABO) is an industry and interest organisation for the municipality owned public housing companies in Sweden. SABO has approximately 300 member companies managing some 802.000 dwellings all together. The public housing sector represents almost 20% of the total housing stock in Sweden and half of the rental sector. Every 7th Swede lives in public housing.
SABO offers support and service to its members through information, competence and the exchange of experience. SABO also work to provide good operational conditions for its member companies and the positive development of rental property. SABO’s work concerns housing policy although it is not affiliated to any political party. The board is politically appointed and reflects the overall political majority of the member companies.
