Real Estate, Built Environment and a sustainable society

Housing Europe supports the factsheet of 'Real Estate & Built Environment life cycle'

Brussels, 28 November 2016 | Published in Economy, Social

The factsheet contains the Real Estate & Built Environment life cycle, explains the various stages and how they are linked, and presents some key facts & figures on why our sector is so important, to people, the economy and climate.

Following up the letter sent to the European Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker and First Vice-President, Frans Timmermans the Factsheet builds upon the dialogue between decision makers and the entire sector, offering an opportunity of having our collective voice heard. This is by no means intended to replace individual or sector-specific engagement activities, but rather to complement.

This factsheet has been developed by 30 associations representing the widest breadth of stakeholders operating in the real estate and built environment sector. The members of our different organisations are involved in commercial and residential real estate (including private and social rental housing), construction, and represent professionals, owners, tenants, investors and NGOs.

Next to European and international associations, including Housing Europe, this initiative is supported by national associations from Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Collectively we firmly believe that it is time to give the real estate sector coordinated attention as a matter of priority at European level and promote a holistic approach to decision-making which includes the various sectors in the real estate and built environment life cycle.
