Housing Europe support CEU and shares housing solutions

On 30 May Housing Europe Policy Officer, Edit Lakatos participated in the European seminar organized by the Central European University in Budapest on 'Solidarity and the Housing sector' focusing mainly on the reasons and potential solutions out of the debt crisis.

Day one of the event aimed at considering lessons that can be taken from some of the solutions-securing and retaining affordable accommodation. Edit presented the EU policy response, highlighting that the initiatives at EU level are very diverse, arising from energy, social affairs, economic and financial governance, urban and cohesion policy, and many more. 

The day was divided in two sections. Participants included academics, practitioners and government levels and we could also exchange directly with  Habitat for Humanity, MRI and Feantsa. This diversity helped to brainstorm about practical steps for ensuring successful policy adaptation. Many of our partners also participated
