GBV prioritises strong public cooperation, flexibility and sustained care

The Austrian Federation of Limited-Profit Housing Associations (GBV) urges members to follow a full stop on evictions and rent arrears, especially for the ones most hit by the crisis.

GBV's newest commentary calls for the stabilization of the public sector and a clear willingness to alleviate the consequences of the corona crisis through individual solutions such as deferrals etc., especially for those who are in a state of emergency because of crisis-induced layoffs, are core-essential. GBV also called on its member companies to suspend evictions and to incorporate the social responsibility of the non-profit sector into their daily work, as more than 1.8 million people in Austria (population of 8.8) depend on their direct and coordinated action. GBV also supports strong advocay to extend the non-profit association's efforts to other stakeholders in the sector and society at large.
