A crucial debate about how can we ensure that the EU economic governance framework can support the sector.

In the face of the housing crisis that has been exacerbated by the global pandemic, the evolution of housing needs both in terms of nature and intensity calls for a more flexible approach for state support, both in terms of level of support (public spending on affordable housing) and in terms of focus (state aid rules for social housing). At the same time, there is need to attract private investment contributing to fulfil social and environmental objectives.

On 17th December, Housing Europe’s President, Bent Madsen and Research Director, Alice Pittni will speak with the Sustainable, Long-term investments and European Competitive Industry Intergroup, as well as with Caisse des Dépôts, EU policymakers and seasoned experts about how we can Build Back Better. How can we ensure that the EU economic governance framework can support the sector?
