Our Secretary General, Sorcha Edwards handed one of the European Systainable Energy Awards (EUSEW) to Centrales Villageoises. The project won the award in the Local Energy Action category for creating a network of local communities to develop renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in France.

"All 9 finalists at the European Sustainable Energy Awards are a symbiosis that shows the green transition and decarbonisation can bring more inclusion and choices. They do not dwell on the differences but focus on getting the work done," Housing Europe's Secretary General, Sorcha Edwards said as part of the jury panel of the EU sustainable competition.

Sorcha had the honour of presenting the Local Energy Action award to Centrales Villageoises. This recognition celebrates the remarkable energy transformation driven by citizens in France, where local cooperative companies have successfully united people, municipalities, and small businesses towards a common goal. Read more about the winners in the other categories.
